Some Properties of the Steganographic Capacity of Images Derived from Watermarking Benchmarks

Hiding data in images in an imperceptible but robust way relies on choosing the locations for hiding according to psychophysical measures. The locations may be represented as an image expressing the steganographic capacity in the diierent areas. i.e. how much the area may be changed without changing the visual appearance of it. Only a few algorithms for computing capacity are found in the literature. In this paper we discuss some properties of algorithms derived from the benchmarks for watermarking proposed in 7] and implemented in the StirMark software. Furthermore the paper proposes to enlarge the set with additional images, with little (or no) capacity, and with unknown capacity.
